Dear Students, Parents, Teachers & Friends of Education,

  Superintendent's Message
Greetings!

The end of the school year has arrived and with it comes the celebration of years of hard work and dedication for all of our Barrow County Seniors!

On behalf of everyone associated with the Barrow County School System I want to say congratulations to the members of the Class of 2017 and express how proud we are to send each of you out into the world as graduates of our school system! Each and every one of the young people that have earned the right to call themselves a graduate of either AHS or WBHS are the future of Barrow County, The State of Georgia, and these great United States of America!

Thank you to all the parents and families of our 2017 graduates for entrusting us with your child's education and partnering with us to see it through to this exciting milestone!

I also want to thank all of the outstanding teachers and staff of our school system from Pre-K to 12th grade for your hard work and long hours helping these soon to be graduates earn their way to this landmark event. I know without a shadow of a doubt that due to your guidance and diligence they are extremely well prepared for the future roads that they will travel.

Class of 2017, we are excited for each of you to experience this exciting life event and we look forward to seeing each of you go out into the world and craft the BOLD life that is waiting for you!

BCSS Georgia Future Educators

Georgia Future Educators Signing Day is an endeavor supported by the State School Superintendent's Office, Division of Career and Technical Education, college and universities, and the Georgia Early Childhood Education Foundation to recognize students who are planning to pursue a career in education. A ceremony to recognize these students was held on May 15th at Winder-Barrow High School and May 17th at Apalachee High School. At each ceremony, students signed a Letter of Intent stating that they are committed to the profession of education and becoming a successful Georgia educator! Students were also provided a letter of support from the Barrow County School System stating that the system will continue to support them on their pathway to becoming a future educator. We are excited that these students have committed their future to improving the quality of life for many future Georgia students!
