New Member Morris Manufacturing

Morris Manufacturing is a fourth generation family owned business founded by W. E. Morris in 1962. Working out of a 2400 square foot facility in Harmony, Indiana, and manned by the owner and occasionally one helper, the company provided basic machining, welding, and fabrication services to local residents and the farming community. Ralph L. Morris, the second generation, joined the company shortly thereafter and expanded the company into maintenance and replacement parts for commercial industries throughout central Indiana. Soon after, the company began producing replacement parts for the Department of Defense. During this time period the company expanded into a 3600 square foot facility and grew to between 10 and 15 employees.

In 1974, Michael L. Morris, the third generation, returned to the family business and assumed ownership upon the unexpected passing of Ralph in 1978. Work with the D.O.D. continued but the company also expanded into contract work for manufacturers, supplying them with various assembly components. During this time, the company again expanded, with its' Harmony footprint now reaching 8000 square feet. This allowed the company to add Automatic Screw Machines and Computer Controlled Machining, allowing it to expand from small contract orders to medium size production runs.

In the mid 1990's the company began providing supplemental capacity and line interruption business to the automotive business, necessitating a move to its current location in Brazil, Indiana.

Today, the company, led by a team including Paul L. "Chip" Morris, the fourth generation, is a Tier I and Tier II supplier to the global automotive industry with over 240 employees, 4 buildings, and over 113,000 square feet under roof. The company was recently awarded the prestigious General Motors Supplier Excellence Award for 2013/2014.

  •  "It's about long-term relationships and treating your customers right. Do what's right for them long-term. Once you win the business, that's when the hard work begins. ... It's all about relationships and reputation."Mike Sawyers, President 7Delta
