Clean & Green Event

Our next Volunteer Corps. initiative will be held on Thursday, August 7. We will assist the United Way's Day of Caring to support a great Downtown organization 'The Friends of the Poor' on this important day of community involvement. We will be tackling a major improvement project at 611 West Wayne St., from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m., with lunch provided. Please consider stopping for a few hours or spend the day making a difference for this worthy Downtown organization.

A Better Fort's #BAALS returns for part two of its concert series. Hosted on the Headwaters Park Pavilion, this highly anticipated event features Fort Wayne  electronic DJs and lots of glow sticks.

Caf� at Citizens Square
to Rotate Vendors


Citizens Square's caf� in the garden level of 200 E. Berry St. will reopen Monday, July 7 with a rotating list of ten lunch vendors, including seven vendors new to Downtown. One food service operator will provide lunch every day.

BuskerSquare 2014

Where: Freimann Square

Dancers, magicians, and music, OH MY! BuskerSquare returns to Taste of the Arts from 11 .a.m - 7 p.m. to provide another exciting celebration of the street performer! Be on the lookout all day for fun artists like The Harp Condition, Robot Girl, Hindered Folk, and the We D'fye Dance Troupe performing throughout the day at BuskerSquare!
Be A Tourist in Your 
Own Hometown 2014

 

When: September 7

Where: Downtown Fort Wayne

 

Be A Tourist in your own Hometown will be on Sunday, September 7 from 12 p.m. - 5 p.m. Fort Wayne residents will receive free admission to 12 of Fort Wayne's museums and attractions, enabling them to enjoy our city as visitors do. Download a free passport at the link below or pick one up at any Fort Wayne Kroger or Old National Bank locations after August 20.

Where: 4005 South Wayne Ave

 

Why: To celebrate Southpaws and their contributions and to bring attention to the challenges they face adapting to a world designed for right- handed people.

Funds will be raised to give a helping  South"paw" to the Allen County SPCA by encouraging attendees to drop a quarter in a special container every time they use the "R" word to mean "correct".

FringeK 2014

 


When: August 10

Where: Wunderkammer Company

 
FringeK 2014 is a fun "race" through the side streets and alleyways of 46807 being presented by Wunderkammer Company as an opening event to the second annual Fort Wayne Fringe Festival. "Runners" will sign up to participate in one (or more) of four divisions - Beards, Costumes, 3-Legged, Freestyle - and the winners of each division will receive prizes, including tickets to Fringe Festival events throughout the week.

Cheese & Quackers 2014



When: August 7

Where: Foellinger Theatre

SCAN will host the first ever Cheese & Quackers event in celebration of the agency's 40th Birthday. Why Cheese & Quackers? Well, ducks love cheese and SCAN is the premier organizer of duck races! And, what duck doesn't love cheese! It just makes sense! This event is $35 and the ticket price includes: From 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., Enjoy samplings of a variety of cheesy products from area restaurants, including Club Soda and many, many more!
