From November 9-15, 2015 the New Economy Coalition will host "New Economy Week: From Austerity to Prosperity"-a public conversation about the ideas that can transform society and build an economy where people and the planet matter.
There's already widespread awareness that the status quo economic system doesn't work, especially for those on the margins of society or for our environment. What's less clear is what we can do about it. Now in its third year, New Economy Week 2015 will challenge us to explore what systemic change really looks like. The hope is that drawing attention to big ideas and concrete examples of real solutions will expand what's politically possible and bring us closer to a just, sustainable, and democratic society.
New Economy Week will convene some of the sharpest writers and activists to share their insights on what's needed to reach a democratic and fair world.
Each day, the New Economy Coalition will be publishing original content from interviews and stories in traditional publications to Twitter chats and live YouTube panels. They'll also be highlighting work being done to build the new economy in communities across the world.

November 13th, 6:30pm
Where:
The Environmental Center, Bend

Remember, the economy is not an act of God or a force of Nature. It is a human-made construct. We invented it and we can reinvent it. Now is the time to get serious about shifting to an economy that improves the health and wellbeing of the planet and the people who call it home.
