CCIA Highlights
LETTER FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Chris Shapard Headshot
Connecting CCIA's community and the larger community of clean technology innovators, to global customers, continues to be a sweet spot for our organization.

Last week's Mining Cleantech Challenge once again proved the success of the model we began three years ago with the oil and gas industry. In fact, we heard from one of our mining partners that they would invest in one of the pitching companies "today." Not only does this model connect innovators to potential customers, but it also serves to attract companies to relocate to Colorado - like the company  CoResource Solutions, who are moving their headquarters to Colorado based on their experience in our Oil & Gas Challenge in 2016.

Partnering with global industry leaders to help identify their technology needs, then sourcing technologies on their behalf, has been shown to be a winner. Facilitating access to customers, capital, pilots and contracts is in the wheelhouse of what CCIA stands for and we intend to extend this reach to other industries when the time is right.

Sincerely,
Chris Shapard
CCIA Executive Director

Policy Update
Capitol

Our CCIA co-sponsored bill, HB 17-1090 (Advanced Industry Investor Tax Credit Extension) is still waiting for a House Appropriations Committee hearing. Right now with all the budget uncertainty, legislators are prioritizing which bills this year will get funded in the FY 2017/18 budget. The bill is being amended to continue to extend for 5 years but with $750k being available for 2018 and $1.5 million for four additional years.

Stay tuned next week for the next installment of the Under of the Dome update with a breakdown of all the bills we are watching on behalf of the cleantech business community.

Does Your Technology Belong in India?
Mr. Ashok Jhunjhunwala, Advisor to India's Ministry of Power, Coal, New and Renewable Energy will be visiting Denver on May 30 in the afternoon and is scouting for technologies to power the country's conversion to clean sources. In particular he would like to meet with companies that have more mature technologies that are already being deployed and have market potential in India. The sectors he is interested in include electric vehicles (not just the vehicles themselves, but their components and related technologies), microgrids, energy efficiency in buildings and homes, grid integration and energy storage.

If you believe your company would be a good fit for this meeting, please contact CCIA to discuss. CCIA will coordinate with the Colorado Office of Economic Development to vet interested companies in order to present only 4-5 to Mr. Jhunjhunwala.
