Letter from CCIA's Executive Director
Happy New Year! It's hard to believe we're mid-way through the first month of the year. In the coming months, Colorado's cleantech and energy community is offering programs and projects ranging from the Energy Fellows Institute to Trout Tank to the Green Transportation Summit . With such an active energy community, there's something in the queue for every technology!

I'd also point out that the clock is ticking for companies to apply for an Advanced Industries Accelerator grant . The AI program has been instrumental in supporting Colorado's cleantech industry and we encourage interested cleantech companies to take a look at the application criteria. Speaking of applications, if you or someone you know is working on a clean technology innovation that might be of interest to the mining industry, take a look at the Mining Cleantech Challenge application - they're looking for everything from blockchain solutions to water recycling to hybrid fuel engines. With so many ways to engage in Colorado's cleantech community, we look forward to seeing you at a cleantech event sometime soon.

Warm Regards,
Shelly Curtiss
Executive Director

Starfire Energy is developing a way to make energy dense liquid fuel from wind and solar power. NH3, or anhydrous ammonia, is used mainly as fertilizer today, but it is also an energy dense liquid fuel. At 150 psi, it has almost three times the energy density of 10,000 psi gaseous hydrogen. When made from clean power, air, and water, it is a CO2-free fuel. Its emissions are only nitrogen and water.

Saoradh Energy Partners (SEP) was formed in 2010 by its Managing Partner, Paul Nelson. He chose the firm's name to represent the free energy of any system, also known in science as Gibbs free energy. Pronounced "seur-ug" if you're a Scotsman and phonetically if you're an American, Saoradh is a Gaelic word that means the act of freeing and ties back to the ancestry of our founder. We are all about energy and are focused on how to build valuable companies and execute on successful projects related to certain downstream sectors of the clean energy and advanced materials industries.
