Over 200 case studies conclude that antagonists prefer to target pastors for removal during the months of November, December, January and prior to Easter.

These are the periods in the church year when rectors tend to be the most overworked and exhausted.

Every pastor and lay leader needs to understand the elements in this phenomenon.  You'll also discover just why antagonists that attack clergy and lay leaders get so angry when they find out your congregational leadership is studying these books.

Remember, none of the clergy or staff ministers in these studies believed they would be subjected to this trauma.  You may believe that you won't either.  Can you really afford not to educate your healthy leadership now?

TO RAISE AWARENESS -
TO HELP EDUCATE AND TRAIN LAY LEADERS -
TO HELP HEAL THE WOUNDED

Those are the reasons that I have written the three books on the nightmare I've chosen to label as a "sheep attack".  Each was written with a different purpose for a different audience, but the wise pastor may want his leadership  to read all three.

When Sheep Attack
"When Sheep Attack"

The first book in the series is based on twenty-five case studies of clergy that were attacked by a small group of antagonists in their congregations. This book describes how it happened, what could have been done to stop it, and what can be done to prevent it from happening to your pastor and parish.  While the book was intended primarily to raise awareness among clergy, it has proven invaluable to help raise that same awareness among lay leaders.

Preventing
"Preventing A Sheep Attack"

This book was written for clergy to use with their lay leaders as a vestry/board study.  It includes goals for each session, discussion questions and particular group tasks to perform.  The intent is that at the end of the study the vestry/board will have in place the needed tools to discourage triangulating behavior.   The emails and letters written by those attacked that are included put a "face" on this experience.  The following topics are included:

*Sabbaticals may be a bad idea in certain situations.
*How even prayer can be a weapon.
*Triangulating staff as a critical catalyst in the attack.
*Why it is inevitable that the system will eject someone once an attack has escalated.
*How the clergy health crisis makes pastors the most vulnerable element in the congregational system.
*Suggested ways the vestry/board can protect their pastor.
*Why you need to get everything in writing.
*Examples of vestry/board non-triangulation covenants.
And so much more.

Healing
"Healing For Pastors & People
Following A Sheep Attack"

This book is committed to assisting clergy, staff and lay leaders begin the healing process following a sheep attack. Emails and letters written by clergy, musicians, staff and lay leaders that have been bullied and abused are shared.  These revelations can assist with the wounded pastor's and lay leader's healing process. Unique new insights in this book include:

*Why an interim period may not bring healing to the congregation.
*Why antagonists will never apologize.
*Antagonists have a preferred leadership type to attack.
*How emotional memories are irrevocably imprinted in us.
*Why narcissistic personality disorder may be an explanation.
*Understanding how an attack can leave the victims suffering with chronic stress syndrome, burnout and/or post traumatic stress injury.
*The five healing steps others have taken to recover.
*And so much more.
