March 2016
Director's Corner

I would like to introduce myself to those who I have not had a chance to meet yet. My name is Steve Sanders and I am the Cleveland Metro Director for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. I joined this great organization back in October of 2015 and it has been a wonderful experience to be a part of what God is doing through FCA here in Cleveland.

I am a Cleveland native, having grown up in the inner city. I attended Cleveland Metropolitan schools and continued my  education at Bowling Green State University where I was a part of, 3-time National Championship coach, Urban Meyer's first recruiting class. I finished my college football career with impressive career stats landed me honors as one of BGSU's All-Time leading wide receivers.  More importantly, I graduated college with a bachelors degree in Political Science. My success on the field led me to play in the NFL for my hometown, the Cleveland Browns, during the 2006-2008 seasons. I also has played for the Detroit Lions and Arizona Cardinals. I willingly retired from the NFL to pursue my life's purpose of directly impacting young people who have come from similar environments as myself.

I am eager to see where God leads me in this new role with FCA and to see the lives of young athletes and coaches impacted for Jesus Christ!
Check out what we have been up to...
