Plan on staying for Lenten Bible Study
at 6:30 in the Parlor.
2018 Lenten Bible Study Wednesdays at 6:30 PM. Come join us for dinner and stay for “Made For A Miracle” by Mike Slaughter, led by Pastor Clark in the Parlor.
At some time in our lives, most of us have prayed for or hoped for a miracle--an event that seems impossible but is brought about by God's transcendent power. But when miracles occur, did you know that you have a role to play?
Dear First Church Family,
Your help is still response to the tragic loss of life of students and staff in the recent School shooting, Pastor Clark announced setting up a fund to send 17 community youth to the United Methodist Youth Camp in Leesburg this Summer . If you would like to contribute to this fund please note your contribution to “camp fund”. The cost of one youth to go to camp is $450. Thank you to those who have already supported this effort to make a difference in the youth of our community.
The Gathering, Homeless Ministry
“The mystery of ministry is that the Lord is to be found where we minister,” writes Henri Nouwen. “That is what Jesus tells us when He says: ‘Insofar as you did this to one of the least of these brothers of mind, you did it to me’ (Matthew 25:40). Our care for people thus becomes the way to meet the Lord. The more we give, help, support, guide, counsel, and visit, the more we receive, not just similar gifts, but the Lord himself. To go to the poor is to go to the Lord.”
Come to the Gathering this Sunday morning and meet with the Lord!
