Course Opportunities

 
EDL 100 "Career Development for the College Student"


 EDL 100 is a two-credit sprint course designed to take you through the entire career development process while taking into account your fraternity/sorority experience. Students will learn how to use their experiences in the fraternity/sorority community and personalized information from the course to make informed career and educational decisions that are a good fit for them. Students will also examine occupational information and trends, and gain experience interviewing while learning tips on how to develop their resume. 


Spring 2012: EDL 100 will be Monday/Wednesday from 4:10pm-5:50pm. Email kfry@muohio.edu to register. 



                                

                                EDL 206 "The Nature of Group Leadership"

EDL 206 is a two-credit, full semester course for second-year students interested in exploring multiple approaches to leadership and building capacity for socially responsible leadership as it relates to the fraternity/sorority experience. The course involves engaged learning through community action work, skill building, reading, writing, case analysis and dialogue. The course also includes a service-learning component. 
 
Spring 2012: EDL 206 will be Tuesdays from 4:10-5:50pm. Email kfry@muohio.edu to register.



Panhellenic Council Hosting Sisterhood Event: "Wicked"

Next Tuesday, November 8th the Panhellenic Council will host a Sisterhood event at the show "Wicked" in Cincinnati! Each Panhellenic chapter will have a couple representatives attend; the night includes appetizers and the show. 

 

Proceeds from ticket sales are going to  the Circle of Sisterhood Foundation, an organization that leverages the wisdom and influence of sorority women to support entities around the world that remove educational barriers for girls and women, lifting them from poverty and oppression.

Philanthropy Event: Blades Against Aids

Alpha Epsilon Phi's philanthropy event, Blades Against AIDS: Wear Pink to the Rink! is coming up. It's an ice skating event held at Goggin that helps raise awareness about pediatric AIDS and breast cancer.  Benefitting the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation and Sharsheret- a support network for women facing breast cancer.

Spring Break 2012: Non-Credit Service Learning Abroad Opportunity

MARCH 3rd-10th, 2012

 

Spend Spring Break volunteering with young children in beautiful Columbia:

Work in local pre-schools and hospitals. The team will be based in the historic town, a large beach resort area, and will travel every day to work sites. Students will participate in various cultural activities to include cooking classes, dance lessons, excursion to the Totumo Mud Volcano, snorkeling, museum tours, and visits to historic sites. Students will gain experience working in pre-schools such as Suenos de Libertad, Villa Gloria, as well as in the Casa del Nino Children's Hospital. You will learn more than you determined everyday life in Columbia.
