Chapter Member Spotlight: Sigma Phi Epsilon
Sig Ep Boys

This past Saturday, three members of Sigma Phi Epsilon were recognized at the Oxford Mason Lodge for the Oxford Mason's Community Service Award.

On August 19, sophomores Ryan Hoffner, Tyler Lindroth, and Charlie Nuck witnessed an officer being assaulted while attempting to arrest an underage drinker. The three boys ran across the street to help restrain the attacker and keep him from further harming the police officer.

Their act of kindness has won them a considerable amount of well-deserved praise, among them the Oxford Mason's Community Service Award this past Saturday with the mayor, university president, and their families present.

Cliff Office Welcomes Greek Life Liaison
Angie

The Cliff Alexander Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life and Leadership is excited to announce an increased partnership with Miami's Student Counseling Service, including the designation of Angie Ledgerwood as the Greek Life liaison.

Angie is a Kappa Delta who did her undergraduate work at Drury University in Missouri, is a Doctoral Candidate in Clinical Psychology here at Miami, and is currently a Pre-Doctoral Intern at Miami University's Student Counseling Service. In her role as the Greek Life liaison, Angie will be the primary point of contact for Greek students and advisors who would like to request outreach programming or seek consultation, and will actively work to increase communication between both offices. She also currently serves as a volunteer for Kappa Delta.

"I am excited to help strengthen the relationship between Student Counseling Services and the Greek community here at Miami! I look forward to helping develop a relationship that will encourage proactive rather than reactive requests for services and programming at both the campus and chapter levels and to help demystify both offices to each other."

- Angie Ledgerwood

Angie can be contacted at ledgerad@muohio.edu or 513-529-4634.

Invitation to "Gifts of Hope" Holiday Party
Gifts

As we draw closer to the holiday season, the Zeta Mu Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and the Delta Upsilon Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. would like to invite you to our First Annual "Gifts of Hope" Holiday Party, Sunday, December 4, 2011 at 5pm at Miami University's Lower Alexander Hall.

Every year, hundreds of families in the surrounding counties are without essential food and clothing. The holiday season is no different. Charged with the duty to serve our community, we are asking that you join us in our effort to give hope to these families during the holiday season. We are asking Miami student organizations to donate children's clothing and toys for disadvantaged families. Our "Gifts of Hope" Holiday Party is where we are celebrating with the organizations that have chosen to donate.

We will also recognize the organization that has donated the most with a special prize! Will it be your organization? I would love to come to your next meeting to discuss our Gifts of Hope program. If your organization is interested in participating, please complete the following form. For questions, please contact Tenechia Lockhart at lockhatd@muohio.edu or (216) 832-1055.

We anticipate your organization joining us for this joyous occasion!

We hope you enjoyed our new updated versions of Cliff's Notes! We would appreciate any feedback at fsll@muohio.edu. And don't forget to follow us on Twitter and Facebook!
