Have a Safe Winter Break!

It's been a great semester and as finals are finishing up and everyone's headed home, we have some safety tips to keep your winter break stress-free!

  • Make sure all garbage is removed from your house, dorm, or apartment before leaving.
  •  Make sure all your windows and doors are locked securely and your curtains and/or blinds are closed.  If you live in a ground level unit, you may want to place a stick or board in the window track to help prevent them from being forced open from the outside.
  • Take your valuables with you.
  • Temporarily stop your mail and newspapers.
  • Know who the last person out of your house, dorm, or apartment will be, and make sure they understand that they are responsible for locking up your residence.
  • The City of Oxford has 72 hour parking limit. DO NOT leave your car parked on a city street!  Citations will be given and towing of cars is very likely.  If you have assigned parking spots park ONLY in assigned spots to avoid being towed.
  • All student vehicles with a valid MU parking permit can park in the Ditmer lot over break.
