Bandstand: Sigma Pi and Alpha Phi

We raised 626 units of blood at the blood drive, which was well above our goal of 505 units!

540 people participated in CROP Walk to help raise $3,295!

The total weight of the food that came to the Oxford Community Choice Pantry as a result of the Greek Week donations was 9,450 pounds.  This doubled the amount that was collected last year.

Below is an excerpt from a letter from an Oxford Community Choice Pantry volunteer expressing her thanks and gratitude:

"Over the summer, the Pantry shelves got quite low with only the minimum
USDA requirements on hand. And then, Greek Week!  Today, those shopping were delighted with full shelves and many choices. Canned meat, varieties of baked beans, green beans, soups, and more!  Each family chose the same number of items in each of the food pyramid categories, but they had choices!"

Thanks to our sponsors Coyote Logistics, DJ Steve the Greek, Lebowski Tees & Design, The Wood's, 45 East Bar & Grill, Skipper's, and Woody's One Up, we were able to make this a great Greek Week!

Miami Alumni Speaker: Julie Holbert

Julie Holbert, a mother of Miami Alumni Meredith Hobert will be holding two discussion forums on Wednesday, October 5. Julie's daughter Meredith was the President of Alpha Omicron Pi during her time here at Miami University. During her senior year she noticed some changes in her body and began experiencing various digestive symptoms. After two years of symptoms Meredith was diagnosed with Stage IV colon cancer just 3 weeks before her wedding. She passed in 2008. Throughout her experience her sorority sisters stayed by her side and supported her.

Miami Panhellenic Association would like to invite all sorority women to attend this event and learn more about the importance of sisterhood. Sisterhood is not only a bond we share within our chapters, but as a whole community. Please encourage your members to attend one of the sessions and see how sisterhood extends beyond our four years at Miami.

Refreshments will be provided. Please arrive early for check in. Eligible chapters will receive a sisterhood point!

Chapter Spotlight: Tau Kappa Epsilon

This summer the brothers of Tau Kappa Epsilon took Extreme Makeover: Home Edition into their own hands and updated their fraternity house!  The house underwent a cleansing, painting, and carpeting project by its members. The new carpet, paint, tile, and doors has the house looking much better and the brothers feel ready for recruitment next semester!

Has your chapter done something noteworthy? Share your story with the rest of the fraternity and sorority community by sending it to Elise Sexton at sextonea@muohio.edu!
We hope you enjoyed our new updated versions of Cliff's Notes! We would appreciate any feedback at fsll@muohio.edu. And don't forget to follow us on Twitter and Facebook!
