WSG 201: Intro to Women's Studies
Sorority Woman-only Section
This spring semester the Women's, Gender and Sexuality Studies Program, Office of Residence Life, and Cliff Alexander Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life are pleased to again offer a section of WGS 201: Introduction to Women's Studies. Instructor: Dr. Elise Radina (FSW). 

* Section is built specifically for current members of Miami's sorority community. 
* Books being considered for inclusion: Inside Greek U (Alan DeSantis) and Pledged: The Secret Life of Sororities (Alexandra Robbins) 
* Members of Panhellenic Association and National Pan-Hellenic Council chapters are encouraged to enroll in this class.
* The class will take a global perspective on women and their influence. 
* This course is a Global Miami Plan Foundation course and fulfills requirements for Social Science courses, Global courses, and the Cultures requirement (the course may count as Social Science and Cultures or Global and Cultures). 

T his year the course is labeled as WGS 201 Section A. The course meets MWF from 11:30-12:25 in 264 Upham. 

Because this course section is only offered to sorority members, it is listed as a closed section on Bannerweb. Students wanting to enroll in this course will should contact Dr. Elise Radina radiname@MiamiOH.edu.  

Instructions on how to enroll: 
Any current members of Panhellenic Association and National Pan-Hellenic Council chapters wanting to request enrollment should send an email (that includes full name and student id number) to Dr. Elise Radina radiname@MiamiOH.edu

Enrollment will be based upon the request date, and each email can only refer to the individual sender (students cannot request multiple seats for roommates, friends, etc). 

Although there might be delay in actual course enrollment, students will receive a response notification of their status (either approved or wait listed) and should plan for this course in their regular Spring Enrollment process if approved.

Lambda Chi alpha and Delta Delta Delta: Watermelon Bash

Lambda Chi Alpha and Tri-Delta are teaming up to fight hunger in the United States with Watermelon Bash, Saturday, October 17. Teams of four will compete in watermelon games and challenges and could be crowned the Watermelon Bash Champion.

All proceeds benefit Feeding America, a nationwide network of food banks and the nation's leading domestic hunger-relief charity.

Registration is $55 per team and $10 for a tee shirt.

Sigma Alpha Mu and Delta Delta Delta: Sammy Splat

The brothers of Sigma Alpha Mu will be teaming up with the sisters of Delta Delta Delta for the first annual Sammy Splat! The event will be held on  Sunday, October 18th at 1pm  at Cabin Creek Paintball. There will be separate brackets and prizes for fraternities and sororities. 

Teams will consist of 6 members, with 1 team captain. Each team will cost $120 and organizations will have the opportunity to register multiple teams. The brackets will be single elimination with rounds lasting 5 minutes. The winning teams will receive a cash prize towards their national philanthropy! 

FREE food will be provided from Skipper's, SDS Pizza, and Subway. For more information contact Tom Ploetz, ploetztj@miamioh.edu.
