Geothermal Hybrid Applications and ASHRAE HQ Energy Comparison Study
Part one of the presentation will cover new concepts regarding Geothermal Hybrid applications. Simulation data along with case studies will show new ways to use Geothermal Hybrid technology to reduce first cost, enhance thermal storage, utilize excess heat, reduce borefield footprint, and increase heat pump efficiencies.
Part two of the presentation will provide a summary of actual energy usage at the ASHRAE Headquarters building in Atlanta. Both variable refrigerant and a geothermal heat pump system are utilized and metered separately and the energy usage data will be compared.
