EDGEWOOD CLUB
Youth of the Month
**KEONNE R.**

Eleven-year-old Keonne has been an active Club member for over five years. His involvement has helped improve his leadership and coping skills, and he's learned to lean on the staff at the Clubs to help him navigate challenging situations. He has increased his volunteering at the Clubs and in his community. He is active in the Keystone Club and STEM projects and his favorite activity is Seaperch where he builds submarines.

"I consider the staff my family because they treat me like their own and watch over me. Boys & Girls Clubs is very important to me because it's helping me prepare for my future." -Keonne
Kiss a Pig!

It is Kiss-A-Pig Season!  Throughout the Summer, our dedicated candidates will be fundraising and hosting events for the privilege of kissing the pig!

How the Campaign Works:
Each candidate seeks donations that buy votes. The candidates with the greatest number of votes is named Most Valuable Puckerer at the Maryland State BBQ Bash. Each dollar donated equals one vote; the more generous the donation, the more votes for the candidate.

Final Kiss-A-Pig Event!
This is where you get to see the pig-kissing happen!

Maryland State BBQ Bash in Bel Air

A day in the life of a software engineer, Servefest 2014, and Boys & Girls Club Week-  our Clubs have been warming up for the Spring with lots of exciting activities, programs, and fundraisers.  We also recently welcomed 3 new board members. Check out all our highlights below to learn more about what we are doing to encourage, inspire, and support our local youth.

A Day in the Life of a Software Engineer
Our SMART Girls learned about a day in the life of a software engineer from Ms. Amy, an Etsy employee, and used their STEM skills to build their very own electronic fireflies in a jar!

ServeFest 2014
Sending out a big THANK YOU to all the ServeFest 2014 volunteers who came out on April 26th to spruce up our Aberdeen and Edgewood Clubs. They did a GREAT job!

Boys & Girls Club Week
While our older club members honored Boys & Girls Club Week with a community clean-up effort, our Edgewood Club kids celebrated by redoing the entry way to the Club with their pictures! WE LOVE OUR CLUB!!

Jailbirds Released!
As the streets of Harford County were flooding, we were holding bail hearings during our Kuffed for Kids fundraiser at Looney's Pub in Bel Air on April 30th.

All of the jailbirds on lock-down that evening were released on bail money raised to send our youth to camp this summer!  Thanks to all our participants/jailbirds!
