Youth of the Month
**Miracle, Age 9**

"Miracle is a busy lady! She is a SMART Girls member, Power Hour Assistant, Triple Play (gym time!) Participant, and loves the Learning Center for games and Project Learn!

Miracle has been a wonderful role model at the Club. She comes into the Club smiling every day and is always willing to assist staff and help out the younger kids. Every day when Miracle finishes her homework, she works with the younger kids during Power Hour and is always the first to offer to help the staff set up and organize activities.

Miracle has really come out of her shell while at the Club and become a young leader in the club. Instead of sitting by and waiting to help, Miracle has really started to jump right in. For example, when working with a younger Club member on homework, they really listen to Miracle because she takes the time to explain how to do something and listens when they are having trouble.

Miracle says that she has learned a lot from the Club and thanks Ms. Deborah for helping her to learn to make smart choices.

"The Boys & Girls Club is important to me because I like to have fun and help people and I always get to do that when I am here at the Boys & Girls Club."

SANTA COMES TO THE CLUB

Santa arrived just in time to wish Edgewood youngsters a very Merry Christmas and to take notes on what presents he needs to order at his workshop up north. Thanks to the generosity of the Edgewood Lions Club, our event sponsor, there was hot cocoa and cookies galore to be had by all. Every child left with a gift from Santa and a smile on their faces. Special thanks to the Harford County Sheriff's Office and to Mr. Steve, Harford's favorite Balloon Man!

Merry Christmas!

With the smell of hot cocoa in the air and the sound of jingle bells around every street corner, we are all excited for the upcoming holidays. For many of the children we serve, this is a bittersweet time. Their wishlists may be left unfulfilled and their families may be broken, but their Boys & Girls Club is a place of consistency, refuge, and holiday cheer.  Check out our special holiday eNewsletter edition to learn more about what we can all do to encourage, inspire, and support #GreatFutures.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Harford County Offers Donors $40,000 in
Year End Tax Credits

As the holidays draw near, it's easy to forget that December is the last opportunity for individuals and businesses to make an annual contribution to their charity of choice that will be deductible come tax season.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Harford County are raising awareness and raising the incentives for making a gift this holiday season. As a part of our Give the Gift of a Great Future Campaign, any donation that is $2500 dollars or more qualifies to receive tax credits.

As one of the only non-profits in Maryland in the DHCD Community Tax Credit program, if a Maryland individual or business gives us a donation of $2500 or more, that donor can earn tax credits equal to 50% of the value of the contribution. For example, if a business or individual donates $5,000 to the Clubs, they can make a $5,000 dollar tax deduction and receive an additional $2,500 in tax credits. That's $2500 less you will have to pay in Maryland State taxes.  So what is the end cost of making a $5,000 contribution to Boys & Girls Clubs of Harford County? After State and Federal deductions, only about $700 dollars!

While Club members pay only $20 dollars a year, it costs approximately $500 dollars to put each of the Clubs' nearly 4,000 youth on a path to a Great Future. What's on that path to success? Caring adult relationships, daily hot meals, homework help, and a bounty of educational programs in STEM, character development, career training, and healthy lifestyles.

Taking advantage of these Tax Credits is simple.  Fill out this two-page form (CITC_Form) and submit it with your donation of $2500 or more to Boys & Girls Clubs of Harford County at PO Box 1106  Aberdeen, MD 21001.

Or visit: http://www.bgcharfordco.org/2014/12/tax-credits/

All donations must be made by December 31st, 2014.

Building Stronger Kids
Builds Stronger Communities

This holiday season will you help us create a Great Future for young people just like Imani? If we empower young women like Imani we can empower the world!

For the cost of ONE $20 dollar bill a year, our kids are put on a path to a Great Future. But the actual cost is a lot more, and we can not do it alone, please consider a gift this holiday season. During the month of December, we hope to raise enough funds to brighten the futures of 150 local children.
