WHAT'S NEW AT THE BGCSV
News from the Club!

How is it the middle of August already?!

The last 8 weeks have flown by at Camp Souhegan, and with only one more full week remaining, we're soaking up the summer we have left before the kids head back to school and we prep the Club for our afterschool program.

We're going to miss our campers and are looking forward to seeing some of them return at the end of August!

  • The last month has seen some awesome theme weeks at the Club, including Safari Week, Science Week, and Halloween Week. We saw some great costumes and had fun science experiments (coke bottle rockets!), art projects (painting Milford DPW's snow plows), and activities ("spiderweb" obstacle course). Click here to see the weekly recap video from Halloween Week!

  • We held our annual golf tournament last Friday and it was a wonderful day! We had more than 100 golfers, and Club staff helped out as volunteers at the Amherst Country Club. The golfers rounded out the day with dinner and a speech by our Youth of the Year, Shelby Houghton.

  • Does your child love acting? We have a very busy fall season with the Riverbend Youth Company, and auditions for four different shows start this weekend! We have four shows and performance opportunities available for kids, teens, and young adults from 1st grade to age 20. See the Amato Center page for audition info.

  • Thanks to Boston Billiards for their $26,000 donation this past month! Our staff was blown away. Their donation will go directly towards our kids and the programs they participate in.

Basketball Leagues are starting soon!

For the first time in our new gym, the BGCSV will have a fall basketball league open to K-8th grade! It will be broken down into different age brackets: K/1st, 2nd/3rd, 4th/5th, and 6th-8th. We still have plenty of open spots, and are always seeking volunteers to help coach. Visit our gym website for more information and to see the signup forms!
FALL REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN!

We are pleased to announce that all the necessary forms to register for our 2017-2018 afterschool program are posted on our website, and can be downloaded and returned or mailed to the Club. We would love to see some of our new camp kids come for the school year! We offer before school care for Milford students in grades 2-5, and after-school care for all local towns in grades 1-12.

We offer enrichment programs throughout the year to supplement the regular afterschool programming, such as art, gym, learning center, and teen room programs. Enrichment programs in the past have been offered in everything from dance and specific sports to technical theater to paper marbling.
If you love karate, here's your chance at discounted lessons!

Thanks to the Neil Stone Karate Academy in Brookline,  Club members and their families are able to take 6 week fall karate courses - usually $250 - for just $100. Sessions run September 25 - November 4. Click here for the application, and contact us at [email protected] or Neil Stone's at (603) 672-8933 for more information.
