WHAT'S NEW AT THE BGCSV
News from the Club!

Well, once again it's quiet here at the Club between 9am and 3pm...and then we're flooded with buses, kids, and staff, which can mean only one thing: school is in session and afterschool care is back!

We've slipped right back into a comfortable rhythm with members both old and new, and we are enjoying hearing about their days at school and what they're learning. There's plenty happening around the Club to keep them busy as well..

  • Our before and afterschool care is thriving, with everyday activities including art, gym programming, dance, free play, computer time, and more! Be on the lookout for enrichment courses, which will be starting soon.

  • For the first time in our new gym, the BGCSV will have a fall basketball league open to K-8th grade! It will be broken down into different age brackets: K/1st, 2nd/3rd, 4th/5th, and 6th-8th. We still have plenty of open spots, and are always seeking volunteers to help coach. The league starts September 24. Visit our gym website for more information and to see the signup forms!

  • Does your child love acting? We have a very busy fall season with the Riverbend Youth Company, and auditions for our all dance production start this weekend! It is open to kids, teens, and young adults from 1st grade to age 18. See the Amato Center page for audition info.

  • Thanks to Cirtronics for their generous donation of $10,000 this month! We are so appreciative of your support!

Welcome, Monica and CAST!

We are pleased to welcome Monica Gallant to our staff! Monica has been the head of CAST - Community Action for Safe Teens - for years, and as we take on new Prevention Services programming, we are excited to be able to fully integrate CAST's goals into our own.

The mission of CAST is to support and strengthen families, reduce the use/abuse of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs and encourage healthy choices by teens through increasing community awareness and action. CAST serves the communities of Amherst, Brookline, Hollis, Lyndeborough, Milford, Mont Vernon and Wilton.

If you are interested in learning more about CAST or how our Club plans to address the opioid crisis, come to our presentation on October 19 to hear more information, meet Monica, and see CAST in action.
