The mission of the CoB Office of Experiential Learning is to complement and enhance the student learning experience at the College of Business. The office engages students in leadership and professional development programs that increase students' capability to be proficient in the workplace. 
 
The Office of Experiential Learning collaborates with employers, alumni, and community partners locally, nationally and internationally, to help them access talented students and assist in the educational process of preparing students to become engaged and qualified business leaders.

Documentary "Generation Startup" and Fire-side Chat, April 12 at 7 pm
Wilson Hall

The Center for Entrepreneurship at James Madison University is hosting a screening of GENERATION STARTUP, a documentary that looks at the front lines of entrepreneurship in America, capturing an in-the-trenches look at the struggles and triumphs of six recent college graduates who put everything on the line to launch startups in Detroit. 
 
The film will be screened Wed., Apr. 12, 7:00 pm in Wilson Hall. 
 
After the film there will be a fire-side chat with select JMU student entrepreneurs moderated by the Entrepreneur In Residence from Venture for America.    
 
The film and event are FREE and open to the public.

Photographer required skills:
  • Proficiency with Photoshop and Lightroom
  • Serve as a photographer for CoB events

Calling all World Travelers and Photographers 

The Center for Global Engagement is happy to announce the 2017 International Week theme, "Global Engagement: Out of Many, One" along with the 17th annual I-Week Photo Contest.  Our hope for the future lies in our ability to connect with one another and collaborate. Since 2000, members of the JMU community have submitted photographs documenting their travels around the globe.
 
Current students, faculty, staff and official affiliates of JMU are encouraged to submit their best photos to exemplify this year's theme in the following four categories: 
1.     People
2.     Nature
3.     Architecture
4.     Miscellaneous
 
We welcome photos taken anywhere on the globe.  The deadline for submission of photos is Fri., Sept. 8.  For further contest rules and to submit your photos, use this link.  
 
Winning photos will be on display in the Prism Gallery during International Week, starting Sept. 25, 2017.

The I-Week Photo Contest reception, during which photo contest winners will be honored, will take place on Thurs., Sept. 28 at 6:30 pm, in Festival's Prism Gallery

Courses for Transfer Credit

Are you considering taking a course at home this summer?  There are many policies governing acceptable transfer credit. Consult with your academic advisor before enrolling.  And remember, JMU requires advance permission by completing the Permission to Take Courses for Transfer Credit form available on the Registrar's website and in the ASC.

Graduation applications for December commencement are due to your advisor by Apr. 14.  Why so early?  It's to ensure a thorough review by the ASC and the Registrar.  Don't delay.  Submit today.
