Coahulla Creek High School

After much anticipation, the doors of Coahulla Creek High School have opened, and the classrooms and hallways are now filled with students and staff. All the months of planning have paid off, and it has been an awesome experience to welcome all students into the CCHS family.  We are pleased with how well the students have adjusted to their new learning environment.  While there is much work left to do, the school year is off to a great start.

I would like to say a very big thank you to all the teachers, parents and students who helped make the opening successful. We had parent volunteers working in the media center to help distribute tablets. We had volunteer workers helping with traffic, parking, and concessions at our first ballgames and matches. It has truly been an ALL IN effort at CCHS from parents, students, and staff, and I am grateful for all of the support that has been shown during the last month.

Our teachers are working long hours in their classrooms to design engaging lessons for your students. They are learning new technology in an effort to design lessons for students that are challenging and will result in profound learning. Thank you teachers! Your work has not gone unnoticed, and I appreciate your dedication to our students.

We have many exciting things to look forward to over the coming weeks and months. From lessons in the classroom to events on our athletic fields and gym, our students, teachers, and coaches are working hard to build traditions at Coahulla Creek and set a high standard for both academic and athletic acheivement.

Finally, I would like to encourage parents to get invovled. Contact the school to find out how you can volunteer time and support the students of CCHS.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.

Again, thank you for your support of the students at Coahulla Creek.

The Lady Colts softball team recorded the first win for the Coahulla Creek athletic programs.

Coach Parrott, Coach Bolen, Coach Johnson, and all of Colts fans were thrilled when the softball team defeated North Murray High School.

Freshman pitcher Shelbe Dilbeck led the team to their first victory by pitching a complete game and beating the Lady Mountaineers 5 - 1.

The first run was scored by Shelbe Dilbeck off of a hit in by Harley Jackson. Congratulations Shelbe and Harley for putting the first runs on the board for Coahulla Creek High School.

The Lady Colts will play 2 more games at home this season on September 13 and September 27. Come out and join in the excitement and get on "The Colt Train".

CCHS Drama Auditions

Poe One-Act Competition

Auditions for CCHS's first one-act play were held on

 September 6 and 7 from 3:45 to 6:00.

This year's competition piece will be "Poe's Midnight

Dreary", an eerie combination of some of Poe's most

famous stories intertwined among the devastating events of his life from which they were inspired.

The play will be performed at the CCHS Blackbox Theatre in late October before the competition with the other schools in the GHSA region.

We are very excited to begin a tradition of excellence in performing arts at CCHS.
