Following the introductory presentation, the forum will feature two panels with a focus on:

Energy Foundry and Coalition: Energy are teaming up to introduce a new happy hour and networking series. 

 

On the first Thursday of every month, "The Current" will bring in entrepreneurs, corporate leaders, nonprofits and investors to Coalition's downtown coworking space to network, discuss, and celebrate the energy innovation community in Chicago.

Come learn about this Lincoln Park solar system and the Solar Chicago Program. This program will allow Chicago area residents to aggregate their solar purchase.

Solar Socials are like mini solar tours, people who have solar installations allow others to see firsthand how solar works. Here is an article about a Solar Social held recently in Palatine.

Representatives from Solar Chicago will be on hand to educate the attendees on the program and answer questions!

The U.S. Department of Energy sponsored SuperTruck program began in 2010 with an aggressive series of demonstration targets: a 50 percent increase in freight fuel efficiency, demonstration of an engine with 50 percent brake thermal efficiency, and development of a pathway to achieve a 55 percent brake thermal efficiency engine.

Urban systems are a major source of carbon dioxide emissions from fossil fuel combustion and increasingly a source of methane losses from both landfills and leaky conveyances. Understanding the drivers of urban greenhouse gas emissions is an important step towards addressing solutions to reduce future global warming impacts. Here we highlight long-term observations from the Salt Lake Valley, Utah and surrounding areas.

The theme is "An Integrated Approach to Saving Energy in an Older Home" because his 1955 ranch house is saving natural gas, electricity and tap water as well as generating solar energy via a backyard solar pavilion that will approach two years of use by the middle of Sept.

Presentation will begin at 1PM.

Building hardware is expensive. Traditional design paradigms in the automotive industry often delay control system design until late in the process - in some cases requiring several costly hardware iterations. To reduce costs and improve time to market, it is imperative that greater emphasis be placed on modeling and simulation.

This one-day course uses a combination of lecture and classroom activities to teach the basics of solar electric systems. Participants will learn how photovoltaic (PV) systems work, diagram the four PV system types, describe and identify components, understand the best application and limitations of each system type, define the solar window, make energy efficiency recommendations, estimate system loads, and understand the basics of PV site assessment.
