Pursuit of sustainable transportation systems requires evaluation of them in a holistic way with life-cycle analysis (LCA). In fact, LCA now becomes an integral part of evaluation of advanced vehicle technologies and new transportation fuels. Since 1995, Argonne has been developing theGreenhouse gases, Regulated Emissions, and Energy use in Transportation (GREET) model for LCA of transportation fuels and vehicle technologies. The most recent GREET version  GREET1.2013 was released in October 2013.
