We hope that everyone has been having a great start to their summertime!  We had a very busy Memorial Day here on the island to kick off the summer months! Beachgoers were in abundance, with everyone enjoying the long weekend.  We'll remain very busy now right through the middle of August, when school starts.  We hope to see you here soon!

Sales continue to be brisk on the island, with a total of 176 properties  SOLD in Anna Maria, Holmes Beach, and Bradenton Beach in the last six months.
Anna Maria topped the list in pricing, with 34 of its current 57 active listings above the $1M mark.  Prices start at $389,500 for a small 2B cottage to $5,995,000 for a 4B Gulf front house on two lots in Anna Maria.
In Holmes Beach, there are 150 active listings ranging in price from $239,900 to $3,595,000 for a 4B Gulf front home.
Bradenton Beach has 43 active listings, ranging from $145K for a Sandpiper modular home to $1,895,000 6B home at 107 12th Street.
Our office has been busy, with the addition of Billi Gartman to our realtor/agents, and she has opened her own annex office on Pine Avenue, at 315 Pine Avenue in Anna Maria.
Sales have been brisk, and as always, it's been very rewarding for me to sell new owners their first island property here!  Brian and Patti Cote', from Michigan, just purchased a new property at 303 South Bay Boulevard which is now in our rental program (below).  Brian's brother, Rob (and Denise) purchased their home here two years ago, so it's fun to have both families able to vacation here together!
Tim Hopkins and Jay Kramer and Tim's parents, Jim and Martha, all from Maryland, went in on a house together on Spring Avenue here in Anna Maria.  I had known them for 5 years, with their coming and going to the island, and they are so thrilled to have a winter place where Jim and Martha can now spend their winters!
A Word From CCAMI
We continue to add properties, as almost every sale with 
An Island Place Realty ends up in our CCAMI rental program, plus we have been adding other referrals.   We continue to work hard on upgrading our checklists to maintain properties to preempt any problems. We have added new cleaning companies that maintain aggressive checklists post cleaning, and we have added another maintenance person to our staff, Marvin Hansen, to help Kevin Trendy with maintenance and service calls.  Marvin is one of our owners, and he is helping us out on a part time basis.
Rentals continue to increase throughout the year, with more and more visitors coming year around to the island.  The manager of the Waterfront Restaurant said their end of May sales this year were equivalent to March sales three years ago, so you can see it's becoming busy all year-around!

Eric Grimes, 36, abusiness man with Cortez roots has purc hased one of the largest undeveloped parcels of waterfront property in Cortez for $10 million dollars.  The canalfront 17.8-acre Hunter's Hill, including the HH Marina at 12444 Cortez Road W., is planned as a vacation motor coach resort and marina.  Visitors can store their boats at the marina, which is connected by canal to the Intracoastal Waterway accessible under a 14-foot-high bridge.
