  • Bi-monthly meeting held at Cobb Central Library
  • Education Team met and planned for Cobb Community Chat
  • Met with Cobb County committee to work on social host ordinance
  • Community Prevention Alliance Workgroup met to formulate plans for conducting assessment, required for DBHDD grant
  • KSU masters student intern joins Cobb Public Health to assist CAT
  • Youth Council marched in Big Shanty parade and held pizza party at MPC to celebrate year's work
  • Cobb Community Chat was a success - will post link to broadcast, so check website again soon
  • Judged Youth PSA contest and awarded winners at Cobb Community Chat
  • Mopdog, Inc. awarded contract to provide PR services for CAT
  • Participated in McCleskey middle school health fair
  • KSU MPA evaluation class conducted/presented data analysis project for CAT

    Taskforce Happenings 

     

    May 2 CAT presents at Cobb Community Collaborative meeting - come on out to MUST Ministries 1407 Cobb Parkway NW, Marietta, GA 30062 to show your support. Networking at 11:30 a.m., meeting from 12:00 - 1:00 p.m.

     

    CAT is working on a grant and we need your help - We are looking for volunteers who can commit 2-4 hours over the next few weeks to conduct assessments within different segments of the community. Assignments are easy, appropriate for most age groups and can be conducted at your own schedule. Please contact Catie Ramp with any questions and to volunteer. Attend a Volunteer Information Meeting:

    • Tuesday, March 8 at 6:30pm at GracePointe Church, 505 Atlanta St., Marietta OR
    • Friday, May 11 at 9:00am at Smyrna Community Center, 200 Village Green Cir. SE, Smyrna

    CAT Community Survey Open through May 31, 2012 - (this is a different survey) We are looking for 2,000+ Cobb County citizens to respond! Please help - share survey with everyone you know. Paper version and online version of survey is available. Cut and paste links and forward to folks in your email address book and/or post on FB page, send message via Twitter, etc.

    May 16 Policy Team meeting at 3:30 p.m. - check calendar page for details. Volunteers are needed!

     

    May 19 St. Anne's Health Fair - We are looking for a few volunteers to help! Please contact Pat Giuliani if you can help fill 1-2 hour shift between 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. that Saturday.

     

    May 20 - 26 SAMHSA National Prevention Week - look for more information about CAT participation coming soon! May 21 is Prevention of Underage Drinking Day, May 23 is Prevention of Alcohol Abuse Day. Read more...

     

    June 5 CAT Bi-monthly meeting - don't miss it! Greg Muller our evaluator will be joining us and we will recognize progress and accomplishments. Please mark your calendars and plan to attend.
