Counselor's Corner
With support and collaboration from Jen Parker and Cheryl Kirkland, and the Northern Arizona College Resource Center, we are excited to announce the opening of our College & Career Corner! We have created a space in the library that will be a resource for supporting students with college and career planning. Our official grand opening will be on October 2 and we will be available to meet with senior students this week on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. Our College and Career Corner is another phase in creating a college-going culture for CHS and we look forward to helping students prepare for their future!

Notes from Nurse Mckenzie
The  Coconino County Health Department is currently giving flu shots on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 1 - 5 pm.  As long as you bring your BCBS card, there won't be a charge.  Walk ins are welcome but they recommend that you schedule an appointment.  They can be reached at 679-7222 to set up an appointment or if you have any further questions.

Next week, starting Monday 10/12/15, the  North Country Mobile Unit (big orange bus)  will be starting flu vaccines as well.  Once again, no charge as long as you have your BCBS insurance card.   You can reach NCMU Bus staff at 522-9406 to set up an appointment or if you have any questions.

The bus schedule at FUSD schools is:

Monday - SMS   8 am  - 3 pm
Tuesday - CHS    8 am  - 3 pm
Thursday - Summit/FRC      8 am - 3 pm
Friday -  MEMS    8 am - 3 pm

Both sites are only giving the vaccine with the new strains for this year.   Please make sure that your buildings receive this information, as there have already been  ten confirmed cases of the flu in Coconino County (and that includes cases in Flagstaff as well).

JOB OPPORTUNITY!

The Sunnyside Neighborhood Association of Flagstaff

CHS Community Free Store!

Greetings once again from the CHS Community Free Store!  We have gotten off to a great start this year organizing and distributing all the donations our generous community of teachers and support staff have given us so far.

To everyone who has made a donation to the CHS Free Store so far:   Thank you so much!!!  Your generosity helps many members of the Sunnyside neighborhood and the Flagstaff community.  In addition, you are helping CHS students gain valuable job skills such as organization and customer service, just to name a couple.

With any donation, please feel free to leave a note if you would like a donation receipt for tax purposes.

And now for our Winter Clothing Drive!  The chill in the air means that once again we need your help in our effort to have winter clothing of all types available at the Free Store.

If you have any winter coats, winter hats, gloves, boots, snow pants, scarves, earmuffs/headbands, or any other winter accouterments laying around your house, we will gladly accept them!  We will accept all items you wish to give!

We are always on the lookout for toys, children's clothes (especially for children ages 3-10), and really any donations you might have laying around.

If you find yourselves clearing out your closets or storage sheds over the long weekend, feel free to drop your donations on any one of the tables outside of the Youth Transition Center (room 301, next to the cafeteria loading dock).

In addition, if you happen to have any laundry detergent or other laundry supplies taking up space, we will gladly take them off your hands as we was a lot of clothing!

Again, thank you all for all the donations you have made so far!  We are blessed to be a part of such a generous community of professionals!
