Power Breakfast



The Dalles Area Chamber of Commerce is having a Power Breakfast event on June 6th at Shilo Inn. At the June 6th Power Breakfast, the Chamber will host Ruth Miles (Small Business Advocate, Office of the Secretary of State). Ruth will speak on the business climate in Oregon and how our state is moving forward.

If you interested in attending this event, please RSVP with The Dalles Area Chamber of Commerce; tickets for this event are $13.00 and breakfast is included. Also, at the June 6 Power Breakfast an announcement will be made on the completion of the latest expansion of The Dalles Public Wifi. After the announcement, a brief  ceremonial "cable-cutting" with Mayor Lawrence, Q-Life President Scott Hege, and others will follow.   

 

Ruth Miles bio:
Ruth works collaboratively with entrepreneurs and state agencies to help streamline and improve Oregon's business climate. She brings a unique combination of public and private sector experience to her work in the Secretary's Office of Small Business Assistance. With 18 years of experience running small businesses, Ruth understands first-hand the challenges that entrepreneurs face. An avid kayaker, she comes to the Secretary of State after nine years in the legislative branch, where she helped constituents navigate the shifting waters and complexities of state government.

Hovercraft Science Class for Kids

On Tuesday, June 3rd at 4:00-4:45 PM, Teacher Russ will lead a class for ages 6-9 about Hovercrafts at Wonder Works Children's Museum of The Gorge. Participants will have the chance to learn how hovercrafts work and will have a special project to complete as well! 60 Mile Ride - group start time: 8:00am
40 Mile Ride - group start time: 8:30am
20 Mile Ride - group start time: 9:00am

13 Mile Ride - group start time: 9:30am

 

These are suggested times so that all our riders return to celebrate their accomplishments together. If you are riding with a girlfriend doing a different distance, feel free to join in any group and ride together. We would like all riders on the road by 10:00am.
