Cold Water! 7/30/17

8 Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.
As I drove back from visiting my son in Jackson this morning, I stopped at a small home advertising "VEGGIES FOR SALE."
I had stopped once before and bought some good ole HOME GROWN MATERS from him, but never had an actual conversation with him.
Although I was NOT in need of any "veggies," I stopped anyway and got out of my truck.
I had not seen the man but he appeared a few minutes later with a fresh haul from his garden.
I looked at his produce and decided I did not need anything and climbed back in my truck.
As I was backing up, I noticed he had some fresh eggs for sale and that caught my attention-I hope to soon have me a chicken coup and raise my own eggs.
That struck up a conversation between us-(remember when people used to actually talk and not text/email!!??)
I explained to him that I often came by his place as "I often visited inmates"-NOT wanting to share any personal information with him.
He nodded his head in agreement, replying that "he understood."
Strangely, I began telling him my TESTimony and when I got through, he told me his!!
I may have finally met my match, as far as Hebrews:

35 Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection:
36 And others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment:
37 They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented;
38 (Of whom the world was not worthy:) they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth.
39 And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise:
40 God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect.
As I listened to him in stunned silence, I marveled at what had just taken place!!
Sometimes the ANSWER to small, private, and innocent PRAYER is SHOCKING!!
The last thing I had done BEFORE I left the house this morning was to get on my knees and PRAY for the day and the journey.
I PRAYED that God would BLESS my day, keep me safe in my travels, and be a better man AND..............................
I added these words to my PRAYER-
"
Lord, if there is ANYBODY I can bless with Your Words and Spirit TODAY, lead me to them!!!!!"

To be openly honest with you, perhaps the reason I had PRAYED that PRAYER was selfishness?
Friday I attended the funeral of a dear Pastor friend who did a WONDERFUL eulogy for his beloved wife of 37 years.
The Church was packed and I sat with two other Pastor friends-both of them Pastor strong and vibrant Churches.
My dear Pastor friends in Foley, AL. are both well into their 70's and outwork "for the Lord" most people half their age!!
Sometimes I miss those days of physically speaking and Pastoring and reaching more people for the Lord.
BUT God is the Lord and He is in charge-IF He needs me, he will use me!!
IF GOD NEEDS YOU, HE WILL FIND YOU!!!
God can even speak through a donkey!!
Numbers 22:28 (KJV)
28 And the LORD opened the mouth of the ass, and she said unto Balaam, What have I done unto thee, that thou hast smitten me these three times?
TODAY, I challenge each of you to PRAY:
"HERE I AM; SEND ME!"

My son Joshua asks for your PRAYERS!
He and the other prisoners are locked in UN-air conditioned cells with no A/C, and until recently NO fan to even stir the air.
He has no access to cold water and the prison has now removed the coolers of ice and substituted two 8 oz. cups of ice, three times a day.
The temperature runs easily in the 110 degrees, 24/7.
Last winter, his dorm had no heat!!
May God SEND you and me into this cruel, hard world with maybe "JUST" a cup of COLD WATER!!!
