More than 300 Enjoy Graduation Celebration

Dear Students, Family and Friends of CollegeTracks,

Lots of summer news to share with you...

In addition to the three big news stories below, we've crunched our year end data. Thanks to tireless efforts by CollegeTracks staff and volunteers, 98% of our 321 high school seniors were accepted to at least one of more than 200 colleges. They will attend 69. Collectively, they were offered more than $5 million in financial aid.

As always, thank you for your ongoing support and generosity. Higher education changes lives for individuals, families, and communities.  Your involvement and passion make CollegeTracks' impact possible.

Stay cool. We'll touch base with you again in the fall.

Gratefully yours,

Nancy Leopold, Executive Director

Kevin Beverly, Board President

June 2015
: CollegeTracks Named Nonprofit of the Year

Montgomery County's Department of Economic Development named CollegeTracks the Nonprofit of the Year.

The award underscores that getting students to and through higher education is a critical workforce and economic development issue.

When students graduate from college, they improve not only their lives but the community's vitality and economy for many years.

Executive Director Nancy Leopold accepted the award on behalf of CollegeTracks' dedicated staff, board members, volunteers as well as generous donors and sponsors at an awards ceremony on June 24th at the Bethesda Marriott Hotel and Conference Center. Four hundred members of the business community and county government were on hand to lend their support.

Fall 2015 : CollegeTracks Will Open Program at Watkins Mill HS
Thanks to an innovative private/public partnership between the Norman and Ruth Rales Foundation and the Montgomery County Government, CollegeTracks will open its third program at Watkins Mill this year.  County Executive "Ike" Leggett and Josh Rales were on hand for the announcement which was made at the CollegeTracks Graduation Celebration.

We'll be sending more details about the opening. In the meantime, you can help us get the word out to students and the community as well as potential volunteers and donors.

May 12, 2015:
Graduation Celebration
Our "I'm Going to College" event at the Silver Spring Civic Building was a huge success.
More than 300 people joined to celebrate CollegeTracks students who graduated from high school and college. Now they are going on to exciting new educational and professional opportunities.
Master of Ceremonies NBC News 4 Anchor Aaron Gilchrist inspired students with his own "I was a CollegeTracks kid like you" story. County Executive Isaiah Leggett was our keynote speaker and he provided his own inspiring story.
Thanks to everyone--students, families, volunteers and generous corporate and event sponsors-who made the evening so special.
