Journey to Bethlehem:
Waiting for the Christ child.
This year in addition to making Advent Wreaths, and family Advent topics we have Advent calendars with scripture to use when lighting your Advent candles.
This Sunday - the first Sunday in Advent, December 3rd, we will also have a “ Journey to Bethlehem Experience” on your way to the parish hall.
What must it have been like for this young couple, Mary and Joseph, ready to have a baby, to journey to Bethlehem to enroll themselves with crowds of other people?! And then....WAIT....with blessed anticipation for the birth of Jesus...
Take time this Advent to anticipate and Wait for Christmas... thinking of what that time meant for Mary and Joseph and what it means for us in our daily life journey.
JOY. HOPE. PEACE. LOVE.

Calling all children!
A wonderful St Francis tradition is that we gather children together to make a choir to sing at the 4:00 Christmas Eve service. This does not conflict with being in the pageant--you can do both. We will have three rehearsals scheduled--please try to get to at least two. Rehearsals are: Tuesday, December 19 3:00-4:00, Thursday, December 21 3:00-4:00, Saturday, December 23  1:00-2:00
We will gather at 3:00pm on Sunday the 24th to warm up and get ready. At the 4:00pm service, children can participate in the pageant, then come sit with the choir (in their costumes or whatever they are wearing) to sing during Offertory and Communion. Please let Jeannie Cobb know you're coming!
Gospel of Mark
Sunday, December 10 after both services
Board Room
With Advent we begin a new church year with the Gospel readings each Sunday selected from the Gospel of Mark. Rev. Peter and Jude Lyons will facilitate this class on the Gospel of Mark for us to understand the characteristics and history of this Gospel. We will watch several Church Next videos as part of the class and discussion. Please join us as we deepen in our understanding of the Scriptures.
Christmas Caroling And Christmas Ornaments!

Choral Prelude for Christmas Eve
Submit Your Favorite Carol Now!

Submit a request for your favorite carol by December 17, and Jeannie Cobb will arrange a program that includes a few pieces by the choir, and many chances to sing carols for the congregation. This Prelude will begin at 8:30. What a wonderful way to begin our Christmas Eve worship!
