SEPTEMBER E-NEWS

Two Ways to Give on North Texas Giving Day
North Texas Giving Day is an online giving event for people across the nation (and the world!) to come together to raise as much money as possible for North Texas nonprofits on one day: September 22, 2016. In seven years, North Texas Giving Day has pumped $119 million into the North Texas community. In 2015, $33 million was raised through more than 118,000 gifts benefiting 2,020 nonprofits.  Gifts can be made between the hours of 6 AM and Midnight on September 22nd.

You can make your gift to Hope Cottage on North Texas Giving Day two ways:

1.  Donate online at www.northtexasgivingday.org, search for Hope Cottage, Inc. and make your donation.

OR

2.  Come to our Building Dedication and Ribbon Cutting.  We will have Donation Stations set up and we can help you make your gift.

Questions?  Contact Leslie.

Remember - you don't have to live in North Texas to make your donation, so be sure and share this information with your friends and family.

Every gift helps.

Michelle Osborne
Being neighborly initially brought Michelle Osborne to Hope Cottage ten years ago. A neighbor of Michelle's was leaving Hope Cottage. She told Michelle about the opening and here she is - ten years later making her the longest tenured current employee of Hope Cottage. Michelle is Executive assistant to Sonyia Hartwell, CEO and Judy Allen, CFO. She also conducts archival research for adult adoptees, adoptive families and birth families for the Post Adoption department.

Michelle Osborne
Born in Southern Pines, North Carolina," My dad was stationed at Fort Bragg and was a member of the 82nd Airborne, but he hated jumping out of planes. As soon as he was discharged we came back to Texas", Michelle explains. After graduating from Woodrow Wilson High School her first job was as the assistant title clerk and evening receptionist for Eagle Lincoln/Mercury. Later she went to work for Paul Osborne Associates where she met her husband - Paul. They went on to form Osborne Illusions Systems,an illusion and magic focused business still in existence. If you saw some of the early shows at Six Flags Over Texas, chances are Paul and Michelle had a hand in them. They created concepts, props and costumes - all for musical, magic, gunfight, animal and stunt shows.

Michelle likes to read, cook and spend time with Paul and their multiple pets. Of her fondest memories about Dallas, Michelle had this to say: " Before the skyline was as developed as it is now, you always knew you were getting close to home when you could see Pegasus from I-30. We would always go to Campisi's Egyptian Restaurant to celebrate special occasions - and we still do."

Hope Cottage deeply appreciates Michelle for her decade of service to both the staff and clients.
