Needle Arts Group

"Finding Phil"

Former Temple member Paul Levy will discuss "Finding Phil," a book he wrote about his uncle Phil Levy, one of the four young Jewish men from South Bend killed in WW II. "Finding Phil" describes, among other things, growing up in South Bend during the post-war era and the family's reaction to Phil's death that was hardly spoken of until Paul began his exploration. Paul and his sister Gail will present their story and answer questions. A light Kiddush lunch will follow.

Paul's family - parents Norma & Nathan, sister, Gail - were long-time members of Temple Beth-El; Paul & Gail were confirmed at Temple Temple's Community Room is dedicated to Lt. Phil Levy, PFC Nathan Garnitz, Lt. Irving Hurwich & Lt. Arthur Simon.
