Over the past month The Common Application Board of Directors has conducted a national search for an Interim Chief Executive Officer. We are extremely pleased to announce that Paul Mott has joined The Common Application as the Interim Chief Executive Officer.
Paul's career includes multiple roles where he has been a leader in organizations going through transition. Colleagues describe him as "smart, thoughtful, analytical and a clear communicator" and as someone who is "always looking out for the betterment of the organization for which he is working." Paul's career includes:
- Fifteen years in Secondary and Higher Education: Director of College Counseling at St. Mark's School of Texas, Assistant Director of Admissions at Williams College, and Admissions Counselor at Rollins College. Most recently he served as a Marketing and Communications consultant to the Office of Undergraduate Admission at Stanford University.
- Experience leading highly visible organizations in transition. Served as President of the New Orleans Hornets (National Basketball Association team) when Hurricane Katrina hit and Paul was responsible for reestablishing the business in Oklahoma City on a very short timeline.
- A demonstrated ability to drill into highly technical aspects of operations and lead organizations in transition as an interim executive while a nationwide search was conducted at ChekMed Systems/GI Supply.
Paul looks forward to hearing and understanding the experiences of Common Application member colleges and other stakeholders so he can best address the association's strategic priorities and chart the course for a successful 2014-15 application year.
