Car Tire Thefts -
- Property Tax Seminar  -
Dear neighbors,

I am writing to make you aware of the recent occurrence of vehicular car tire thefts in the 19th Police District.  Unknown offenders remove all four tires from a vehicle and then place the vehicle on cinder or concrete blocks.

These offenders have targeted vehicles parked on the street and typically occur during late night and early morning hours. The primary targets seem to be dark colored vehicles with larger sized tires, typical of many SUV's and hybrids.

The police continue to investigate, and in the meantime recommend the purchase of locking lug nuts for individual tires to deter these types of thefts.

As always, please dial 9-1-1 to report any suspicious activity you may witness.

If you have any questions or concerns, don't hesitate to contact my office at 773-348-9500.
