Community Alert:

Pride Parade Street Closures

Dear Neighbors,

As you know, the 45th Annual Pride Parade takes place tomorrow, Sunday, June 29th.

To prepare for the parade, the following streets located within the 43rd Ward will closed,  and cars will be towed beginning at 5:00am. Be sure to remove your car from these streets today!

Cannon Drive, from Fullerton Parkway to Diversey Parkway

Diversey Parkway, from Broadway to Sheridan Road/Lake Shore Drive

Both Diversey Parkway and Cannon Drive will be posted with temporary signs indicating "NO PARKING ON SUNDAY JUNE 29, 2014 FROM 5:00 AM TO 8:00 PM. - Both sides of the street."

The parade begins at noon, and the last entry is expected to step off the route between 3:00 and 4:00 pm. As parade attendance  is projected to reach one-million, it is anticipated that traffic will be heavily congested in surrounding side streets during, and for a short period after, the parade occurs.

While the Chicago Police Department has allocated significant resources to assist in traffic management and to ensure safety, please walk or take public transportation tomorrow, and allow extra time for travel.
