FREE International Hiring Seminars
Can't find enough qualified workers locally? This information session will help you understand how to use federal and provincial immigration programs to hire skilled foreign workers.

Heather Michaud, a representative from the Federal Department of Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) will:
  • Present opportunities to recruit skilled foreign workers from within Canada and abroad
  • Clarify the requirements and processes to hire foreign workers
  • Explain how you can help foreign workers you employ to become permanent residents of Canada
  • Answer your questions about visas, work permits, and immigration.

There will be two ways to take in all the information- attend the seminar and/or attend the ask the expert round table! All seminars and round tables are FREE to attend.

By signing up to participate in a seminar via webinar, you will receive a link once the webinar is complete to replay the webinar. The link remains live for one week after the seminar. This means you do not have to watch the entire seminar at one time and can replay any parts that you would like to listen to again.

Wildfire Business Transition Program
Funding for training available for businesses and
not-for-profits impacted by the 2017 wildfire season

Businesses and not-for-profit organizations impacted by last summer’s wildfires in B.C.’s Interior will be able to access up to $10,000 in financial support for training through a new program established by four Community Futures groups in the Cariboo-Chilcotin, North Cariboo, Sun Country and Thompson regions. The training program is part of the Wildfire Business Transition project, which provides targeted support to help businesses and communities that were impacted by the wildfires.

Eligible businesses and not-for-profits will be able to access a maximum of $10,000 in
training support – up to $5,000 per owner/manager for business coaching or other self identified training program, and up to $2,500 per employee.

Business Facade Improvement Program 2018
The Cariboo Regional District (CRD) is pleased to offer the Business Facade Improvement Program thanks to grant funding provided by the Northern Development Initiative Trust.

In an effort to create vibrant commercial areas that can attract new customers, visitors and potential investors, the Business Facade Improvement Program provides grant funding for business and property owners to improve their commercial building frontages.

Applications accepted to expand high-speed internet access

July 3, 2018 | Prince George, B.C. – Local governments, internet service providers and community organizations can now apply for grant funding to connect high-speed internet for British Columbians who need it the most – those living in rural, remote and Indigenous communities.
