REPRINT: Improving the Quality of Life
and Saving Families Money with FamilyWize
The implementation of the Affordable Care Act has allowed more people to have access to healthcare although, sadly, there is a great number who are still uninsured. These are moderate to low-income working-class people who cannot afford their prescription medication, either because they have no insurance or their medication is not covered under their insurance.

For a growing senior-citizen population, the same applies. It was reported in NJ.com that 52 percent of chronically ill people who are uninsured skip taking their medication and forgo it altogether because they can’t afford it.

Certainly, having access to affordable prescription medication is vital to the health and well- being of individuals and communities. For this reason, FamilyWize® Community Service Partnership in conjunction with United Way of Greater Union County, have teamed up to ensure the best quality of life for Union County residents, by making prescription medication affordable.   Read more.
Sponsor a Child this Summer
It may come as no surprise that summer programs can be costly and many of the families we serve cannot afford to send their children to quality summer enrichment programs. Programs that have a long lasting positive effect on a child help builds character and confidence, academic support for those that need it and life skills, all building blocks for a healthy and productive life.

UWGUC has partnered with nonprofit organizations to support children who would benefit from a summer camp experience. We ask for your help in supporting vital summer programs that will make a difference in a child’s life.
