Parents and Self-Advocates Input Needed

Parents/guardians and self-advocates, the Kansas Department of Aging and Disability Services (KDADS) needs to hear from you. KDADS is exploring how the Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) waiver Final Rule will address the quality of life for individuals who are receiving waiver services. Your voice is needed to help ensure the Final Rule reflects  your vision of what inclusion in the community looks like for your loved one The HCBS Final Rule Setting focuses on the quality of a person's full experience in the HCBS setting of the individual's personal choice.

KDADS hosts calls the first and third Wednesday of each month at 12:00 p.m. and 5:30 pm. During
each call, KDADS staff will share updates and feedback  received  from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). T here will be also be time for questions from stakeholders on the call. More information.
Opportunity to Start Saving Now

The Kansas Achieving a Better Life Experience (ABLE) Savings Program is project to be running by the end of 2016. If you'd like to start saving now, the Enable Savings Plan is a nationwide plan. You can start saving in the Enable Savings Plan, for the long term or until an ABLE account is available in Kansas.
