In Focus: Student Presentation at The Science of Consciousness Conference
Elizabeth D. Stephen-Pande, PhD student.

Energy healing is an alternative therapy intended for: balancing the energy pathways in our physical or subtle bodies, facilitating the body's innate healing mechanisms, and dislodging negative emotional patterns and conditioning.

For her PhD dissertation research at Sofia University, Elizabeth Stephen will employ no fewer than five healers, and will focus on removing one topic of emotional conditioning in particular: survival fear, or the feeling that life in a human body is unsafe. She will measure the test subjects self-reported anxiety levels both before and after the energy healing session.

Sofia U's First e-Book featuring our PsyD Faculty
PsukhÄ“

As we strive to provide our prospective, current and former students with relevant and valuable content showcasing transpersonal psychology and our stellar faculty, w e are very excited to announce the creation of our first e-book!

Articles in the e-book were graciously shared by Fred Luskin, Ph.D., David Lukoff, Ph.D. and Shani Robins, Ph.D. Very special thanks go out to current doctoral student, Nicholas Boeving who spent countless hours compiling the information.

Sample from the e-book introduction:
"Like so many words borrowed and built upon from the original Greek (psukhÄ“ 'breath, life, soul), the richness of the root has diminished greatly with age...

What sets Sofia University apart from other institutions of higher learning is this over-arching ethos and etymological integrity to the very root from which all subjects studied there grow out of and develop: transpersonal psychology."  Nicholas Boeving, GPhD

Title the Photo Contest Winner
Artist Ulises Charles is pictured.

We're excited to announce the Winner of our Photo Contest taken by artist and MATP alumni Ulises Charles.

And the winner is...

Sonia Lucana

Ulises reviewed all of the entries and chose the one that best fit what he was thinking about when he took the photo. Her title was "A Sacred Holder".

Said Sonia about her win.
"Thanks so much. What a privilege and honor, OMG and yesterday was my B.day."

We love it when the universe conspires to make someone's day! Thank you to everyone who entered the contest. And by the way, for those wondering, the photo captured a tree and its reflection in the water. :-)
