Compete in our upcoming Masters Scotch Doubles Vegas Qualifier and earn a chance to represent Birmingham APA in the next APA Masters Championship at the Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino!
Competing teams will have the opportunity to win Prizes, Trophies, a Vegas Slot, and plenty of CASH for travel expenses. Eligibility requirements and tournament rules are listed below. If you received this email but are not eligible to compete in this tournament, we hope you will be able to participate in the future. Please check our website calendar or the back of your team packet for future event dates.
Eligibility Requirements
You must be a current APA member and have played at least 10 matches in 8-Ball in the past 2 years.
You must be on an active Birmingham APA team roster in this format and played at least one match this session.
You must be up-to-date with our league with NO past due monies owed.
You must be a skill level 6 or better in 8-Ball to be able to participate.
Rules & Guidelines
Entry fee is $80.00 per team.
All teams must pre-register and all entry fees must be paid by the tournament date.
All teams must be paid and signed-in at least 30 minutes before the start time to avoid a $10.00 LATE FEE.
Registered "No Show" players will still owe their entry fees unless replaced.
Scotch Doubles (Shape Partners) format using a Modified-Single Board.
Players will alternate shots at all times including when time to break.
Minimum of 8 teams needed. (24 to 32 teams may go into Sunday).
Teams may consist of either sex and total skill levels will be 12 to 14 points.
Players' current skill levels, at the time of the registration deadline, will be used.
Match races determined by total team points:
12 pts - Race to 4 Games
13 pts - Race to 5 Games
14 pts - Race to 6 Games
Only ONE time-out per team per game.
No talking, or signaling, your partner while it's your turn at the table.
The number of Places paid, trophies, and prize money will be based on the number of teams participating.
1st Place team will choose 1 to 2 other Birmingham APA players to make up a 3 to 4 man team to compete in the upcoming APA Masters Championship in August.
1st Place prize monies (based on # of teams) will be paid out by the last week of July for travel assistance to the APA Masters Championship in Vegas. (Teams not attending must pay back any monies won.)
