"I have the best coaches!"
(We agree, Connor!)
2018 USA Games
Team Minnesota is ROCKING Seattle!
Our athletes are playing hard and having so much fun at the University of Washington. We've never seen so many smiles, cheers and celebrations--or so many intense game-day faces. All their training is paying off, big time.
Let's start with our flag football team, the St. Michael-Albertville Stallions, which earned silver today after a very tight final game against Michigan. They've been running hard on the field all week and showing everyone how awesome Minnesotans can be, and we couldn't be prouder of them.

Shout out to coaches Brian Beutner, Chad Libby and Olivia Lutz for getting our team into tip-top shape and supporting us this week! You're the best.
Our bocce teams spent their final morning dominating the courts, even playing side-by-side at one point. They're amazing athletes and they've done a fantastic job this week. They deserve every award they earn.
Over at Unified basketball, Team Minnesota had a terrific morning, winning their game against Southern California. They'll move on to the final round tomorrow--good luck, Orono Spartans! (Not that you need it!) And a big round of applause to coach Michelle Swenson and assistant coaches Hank Seward and Hannah Striggow. We wouldn't be here without you.
On the last day of gymnastics competition, Team Minnesota athletes delighted and impressed on the beam, vault, bars and mat. They're bringing home golds and silvers from the past couple days alone. Congrats to al!
Meanwhile, in the pool, we've seen gold, silver and bronze hanging around our athletes' necks. They're doing freestyle, they're doing relays, they're doing the breaststroke and backstroke and every other stroke there is--and they're doing it (dare we say it) swimmingly.
And finally, our tennis champs keep swinging their way to victory--lots of medals in singles as well as some excellent doubles competitions. We clap a little harder each time one of these athletes steps onto the court.
Keep watching!
