The Polar Plunge to benefit Special Olympics marks its eighth year in Western Kentucky on Saturday, February 18, when this chilly event hits the water once again at Kentucky Dam Village State Resort Park.
The Plunge works just like a walk-athon with Polar Bears raising a "bear" minimum of $75 ($50 for Junior Polar Bears, those between the ages of six and 18) to earn the right to plunge. Every Polar Bear receives an official Polar Plunge T-shirt and Polar Bear Club Certificate, but participants who raise more money can earn even better rewards.

Kentucky Dam State Park Trail Clean-up Day

A trail clean-up day is planned for Saturday, February 18th at the new Kentucky Dam State Resort Park mountain bike trail. Anyone interested in helping can join in.
TIME: 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
Where: KDV Riding Stables & Cemetery Road - Gobblers Knob Point
There will be a group meeting at the Riding Stables parking lot NLT 10:00 AM. From there one crew will work the area along 641, between the Stables and Sledd Creek Road and the remaining crews will go to the Cemetery to work on the point going out to the breakwall and main lake. We will have bags donated for the trash and some trailers for hauling it out.
