Connecting the Baltimore Lutheran-Concordia Prep Community
September 2018
Dear Alumni and Friends of Baltimore Lutheran School and Concordia Preparatory School,

Greetings in our Lord Jesus Christ! I hope you all had a wonderful summer and spent time relaxing with family and friends. The summer here at Concordia Prep was anything but restful. Shortly after the last day of school, construction began on the Upper and Middle School bathrooms, the Upper School Chemistry lab and Middle School Science room. The Bridges Media Center received a much-needed facelift and brand new furniture. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to this campaign. Visit the Renew and Rejoice Gallery to see before and after photos and stay tuned for information about Phase Two of the campaign, which will launch later this fall.

Concordia Prep is blessed in so many ways. Last June we celebrated the Class of 2018 during May and June with awards, farewell events, and graduation. This class boasted an impressive list of acceptances and scholarships to 60 colleges and universities. Also in June, we watched our eighth graders become high school students at their affirmation ceremony. Enrollment this past year showed a significant increase and school opened with our enrollment near capacity for the first time in years. We share with pride our outstanding students' academic, fine and performing arts, and athletic achievements with the Year in Review feature on the Concordia Prep website: The Year in Review

This fall we will hold the first Athletic Hall of Fame during our Homecoming celebration on Saturday, October 13 . Please mark your calendars and plan to attend. The day will begin with our fall Open House for Prospective Families at 10 am followed by a Renew and Rejoice dedication ceremony for areas updated over the summer at 12 pm. The varsity football game begins at 1 pm and the Athletic Hall of Fame will be held during halftime, followed by the Alumni Oktoberfest from 4 to 6 pm.

An integral part of the Renew and Rejoice campaign has been our commitment to renew our relationships with our alumni and association churches. During March, April, May, and June, I visited over 20 churches not only to worship with each congregation but to thank them for their commitment to our success. We have more visits planned for the fall. I hope to have the opportunity to meet with you and discuss how our faith in Christ enables us to provide a faith-filled education to the next generation of servant leaders.

It's a great time to be a Saint.

May God bless you and those you love.

In Christ
