Dear alumni and friends of Baltimore Lutheran School and
Concordia Preparatory School,
For unto you is born this day in the city of
David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
During this special time of preparation before the birth of Our Lord Jesus Christ, I wanted to share with you how thankful we are at Concordia Prep for your continued support and share some exciting news from this past fall.

Our weekly Chapels have been an inspiration to us all. This past month, several teachers shared their experiences of participating in mission trips. Each presenter asked the students to consider how God is calling them for service. Director of Technology and teacher Mr. Nate Konkel challenged them this way: “Thanks be to God for opportunities to go and learn about how other people are reached through the Gospel - we also thank Him for the many bountiful opportunities he gives us to help the friends and family who are in need of our personal help.”
The Art Club held the Operation Christmas Child Project this fall. They asked students to donate gifts, small toys, art supplies, hygiene products that would fit into a shoebox. Over 65 boxes—the most ever collected, were filled and mailed to children living in poverty around the world. In October, the school community “stuffed the bus” for hurricane relief and donated water and food to communities in Houston, TX after Hurricane Harvey. The Student Government organized a food drive before Thanksgiving for the Lutheran Mission Society. Concordia Prep is participating in a “Baby Shower for Baby Jesus” donating food, clothes, and supplies for babies and small children in need. These items will be donated to the Lutheran Mission Society Compassion Centers this week.

Both the upper and middle school participated in the Christmas Fine Art Festivals in early December, which celebrated our talented musicians, singers, and artists.
Last, but certainly not least, the fall sports teams made us very proud. The varsity soccer team finished the season 2nd in the MIAA ‘B’ Conference. This was an outstanding showing the first year moving up from the ‘C’ conference. On November 10th, senior Kate Brocato signed her National Letter of Intent to play Division 1 lacrosse at the University of Cincinnati next fall. Varsity football captured the Lutheran Cup from Long Island Lutheran and finished the season 6-4. The winter sports season is in full swing and Concordia has eight basketball teams in both the upper and middle school competing almost every day. Join us and cheer for the Saints!
There is much to celebrate and much to be thankful for. Please see the upcoming events listed below and join us as we continue our mission of developing men and women of faith and service.
May God bless you and those you love during this Christmas season and throughout the year.
