Connecting the Baltimore Lutheran-Concordia Prep Community
February 2018
Dear Alumni and Friends of Baltimore Lutheran School and Concordia Preparatory School,

On Ash Wednesday we began our 40-day Lenten journey as we prepare ourselves for the resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ on Easter. As a school community, Concordia Prep began this journey together with a special Chapel and imposition of ashes, remembering that Christ died on the cross to wash clean our sins. I pray for all of you during this season of Lent.

The winter months have proven a bit challenging with several icy school delays and closings. Our eight upper and middle school basketball teams performed well despite numerous cancellations and game changes. As I write this, our spring sports teams are taking the fields and our Theatre Department is rehearsing for Mary Poppins to be held the last weekend in April.

On Friday, February 16, our admissions team sent out letters offering acceptance to our middle and upper school for next year. It was the one of the largest and most competitive recruiting classes in years. From newly admitted parents upon learning their children were accepted into CPS: "We are certain that our children will thrive at Concordia Prep and feel honored to be accepted into the Class of 2023 and Class of 2025! " -Tim and Nancy Smelcer

I want to alert you to two upcoming events that are pivotal for Concordia Prep. On Friday, March 9, We will host an alumni and student fine arts showcase-- The Saints Fine Arts and Alumni Showcase --that will feature performances by Concordia Prep’s band, choir, and Theatre Department and also numerous alumni who are generously sharing their talents with us that night. We have exciting news to share about the school and campus. Please visit the Saints Showcase webpage for complete details and tell your friends!

The annual Bid for Kids Dinner and Auction will be held on Saturday, March 17 at the beautiful Hunt Valley Country Club. This year’s theme is Renew and Rejoice in honor of spring and will have delicious food and exciting live and silent auction items. See below for details and to purchase tickets.

As always, thank you for your continued support of Concordia Prep. May God bless you and those you love during this Lenten season and throughout the year.

In Christ,
Brent Johnson
Headmaster
