From Middle School Principal
Mr. Curtis Miller
Romans 12:2a "Do not be conform to the patterns of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind"

What a time to be a Saint! Romans 12:2a is a great verse to represent this school year. We are to be transformed. The middle school has been transformed in several ways already this school year. It is will great excitement that we celebrate our growth in the middle school to over 110 students. The middle school halls are filled with great young students and most of them new to the Concordia Prep experience. This growth has allowed us to be transformed from students to teachers to classes to experiences. The middle school students both new and returning are provided with more opportunities. The transforming growth allows Concordia Prep to welcome new teachers to the middle school with a great mixture of experience and young energy and ideas. We have expanded our enrichment program to include three new enrichment options with Choir, Drama, and Robotics. We are excited to see our athletic, fine arts, and drama programs grow. We look forward to see more transformation in our students as they grow to use their God given gifts to the fullest. What a time to be a Saint!
This Week at Concordia Prep
Support CPS art students at The Little Italy Art Festival this weekend. A team of art students will be representing CPS by creating street art with chalk pastels. The festival runs from 5 pm Friday afternoon through Sat. and Sun. when judging takes place at 3 pm with a concert following. The three-day weekend festival features art, music and the delightful foods of Little Italy. Guests can meet and converse with professional artists, including those who have traveled from Italy for the street art competition. Watch all the artists including our students create art in the Madonnari tradition. For more information visit: littleitalymadonnari.com .

Stuff the Bus for Harvey Relief
Concordia Prep School is partnering with the Class Produce Group to collect donations for victims of Hurricane Harvey. Bring your donations ( see list below) to CPS through Thursday evening-- you may bring items with you during Back to School Night. On Friday, all donations on the CPS bus will be taken to the Class distribution center in Jessup, MD and put on a truck for Texas. Suggested items: bottled or gallon water, canned food, clothing, towels, toothbrushes/toothpaste, deodorant, soap, diapers, and pet food. All items must be new, unexpired, and unopened.

Concordia Prep is also sponsoring an out-of-uniform day on  Friday, September 15 for $3. All money collected will be donated to  Lutheran Education Association of Houston (LEAH) - Hurricane Relief Fund. Students are asked to adhere to the out-of-uniform policy in the parent-student handbook.

Back to School Night 2017
All parents and guardians are invited to attend our annual Back to School Night on Thursday, September 7, from 6:30-8:30 pm. Parents will pickup schedules for the evening in the cafeteria and then be given the opportunity to walk through their student’s schedules, meet with teachers and staff as well as other parents, and get first-hand information about the classes students are taking. This is an outstanding way to learn more about your student's school day and how you can be involved in the CPS community.

Used Uniform Exchange
The Concordia Prep PTL will be available in the cafeteria during Back to School night at 6 pm with a table of gently used uniforms. Uniforms will be available on a first-come basis. You may also donate any gently used uniforms for the exchange.

Coca Cola Give Program
Concordia Prep is participating in the Coca Cola Give program.
Your copy should address 3 key questions: Who am I writing for? (Audience) Why should they care? (Benefit) What do I want them to do here? (Call-to-Action)

Create a great offer by adding words like "free" "personalized" "complimentary" or "customized." A sense of urgency often helps readers take an action, so think about inserting phrases like "for a limited time only" or "only 7 remaining!"
