2020 was a year of aspirations for success for the Hispanic chamber with plans of innovative ideas and programs. However, COVID-19 changed all plans with the Pandemic government imposed restrictions.
Despite the complications and difficulties experienced, the FCHCC President and FCHCC Leadership joined hands to make the best of the situation, shifted gears by rising to the challenge.
The fact that our organization’s loyal members did not waver in their usual support, played a significant role with our achievements. We would have not been able to succeed without them by our side.
All events implemented were successful with the new modality of Virtual Professional Networking Events featuring topics directed to support the business community and the community at large from the devastating effects of COVID-19.
The following are some of our accomplishments:
Before the pandemic, we held our first networking event on February 24th at The River Club
Developed our first Internship and Mentorship programs
Continued to have new members join, as well as renewing members, keeping active membership numbers steady and brought on more awareness
Increased our social media engagement with regular posts like: Membership Monday, Throwback Thursday and publishing partner events and programs
Hosted our very first online cooking class with Mambo's Cuban Café
Hosted a total of 9 business webinars
Recognized the 2020 Hispanic Graduates with a ceremonial video
Awarded the 2020 ATD winners online and at our ATD Community Event presented by the Jacksonville Jaguars
Held an exciting Raffle fundraiser in December
Featured many new employment positions on our Job Board offered by corporate members.
