In the aftermath of Hurricane Irma, which has impacted Florida and nearby areas with such devastation, Comcast NBCUniversal today announced it's making an additional donation of $1 million in cash to support relief efforts. This brings the company's direct cash contributions to $2.5 million.

Charter Communications, Inc. announced a $350,000 contribution to Rebuilding Together to support relief efforts and specifically assist with home repairs and renovations needed in areas impacted by Hurricane Irma.

The company said in a statement that the funds would go towards supporting the efforts of the American Red Cross, UNICEF, Save the Children and other nonprofit groups as they deal with the aftermath of the deadly hurricane which tore a path of destruction through the Caribbean, Florida and the southeastern United States.

Altice USA said it's making a $50,000 donation to the Red Cross of Texas, and is providing the Red Cross with free advertising time across its Optimum and Suddenlink systems nationwide.

The event live-streamed across YouTube and Twitter, and also aired live on the big four broadcast networks as well as BET, Bravo, CMT, Cumulus Media/Westwood One, E!, HBO, HBO Latino, iHeartMedia, iHeartRadio, MTV, MTV2, MTV Live, MTV Classic, Oxygen, SiriusXM and Univision.
