The Avalon Free Public Library is excited to welcome its new Director, Erin Brown. Brown joined the Library staff in September following the retirement of longtime director Norman Gluckman.
"Joining the team at the Avalon Free Public Library has been an amazing experience," says Brown. "I'm grateful for the support and warm welcome of the Library staff, Board of Trustees, and entire Avalon Community. I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to work with such an exceptional team to help shape the future of this outstanding organization. I look forward to doing all that I can to support the Library's existing phenomenal services and offerings while working with staff to explore new and exciting opportunities along the way."
Brown earned her master's
degree in Library and Information Science and achieved a B.A. in Arts with a concentration in Arts History from Drexel University. She
previously served as the Head of Adult Services for the Atlantic City Free Public Library for the past eight years.
"The AFPL Board of Trustees enthusiastically welcomes Erin Brown as the Library's new Director," said President Jacquie Ewing. "Of the 36 applicants and several viable candidates interviewed, Ms. Brown impressed the
interview panel as the person best suited to oversee the next exciting phase of growth of Avalon's
life-long learning and cultural center."
Be sure to stop by and extend a warm welcome to Erin Brown the next time you visit the Avalon Free Public Library.
