Congrats
Congratulations, President-Elect Donald Trump and
Vice President-Elect, Mike Pence!
Hail to the New Commander-in-Chief!

Americans For A Safe Israel congratulates President-Elect Donald Trump, Vice President-Elect Mike Pence, and their campaign team after their run for the presidency ended in victory yesterday.

Israel has always considered the US to be its "best friend", and the US (at least Congress and the public) has always had a special affection for Israel. However, the relationship between the countries' leaders during the past eight years has been strained. We thus  look forward to a resetting and continuation of a close and mutually-rewarding relationship between Israel and the United States.

While the widely-held perception of this relationship has erroneously been seen by some as "giver" (US) and "taker" (Israel), the truth is starkly different. Israel, as the only true democracy in the Middle East, surrounded by dictatorships and violent theocracies, has always supported the US. Be it as a secure and reliable "island in a sea of sharks" in the Middle East, or by supporting the US in international institutions such as the UN, Israel has always been at the side of the United States. As for the aid the US provides to Israel, Israel has repaid it in multiples. By being a testing field for new weaponry resulting in state-of-the-art enhancements, or be it the development of new technology shared with the US, or of unparalleled sharing of intelligence not available anywhere else, Israel has saved the US hundreds of billions of dollars along with an innumerable number of lives.

We look forward to President-Elect Trump and his team implementing their platform positions both foreign policy-wise and domestically, to:
- Restore America as leader of the free world
- Grow the close relationship between the US and Israel
- Scrap or re-work the Iran nuclear deal to eliminate existential threats from that rogue, terror-sponsoring and terror-enabling nation
- Rebuild our military
- Increase border security
- Rebuild our crumbling infrastructure
- Reduce the nation's deficit
- Lower taxes to stimulate the economy, thus creating new jobs and lowering unemployment
- Make the US energy-independent
- Heal the social rifts and worsening race relations within the US, exacerbated greatly during Obama's eight year rule

All of this is a tall order, but Donald Trump was elected and given a mandate to steer the US in a new direction. We appreciate his leadership, energy, drive and desire to do so, and stand with him as we wish him all the success as he takes over the reins of this great nation.

Unesco
Stand with Israel: Reject UNESCO Resolutions
Attend Rally Nov. 10!

UNESCO's resolution denying Israel's connection to the Temple Mount and the Western Wall is an abomination and must be fought.

Our good friend and Director of the International Legal Forum based in Israel gives a fine explanation of the context of UNESCO's decisions and why they cannot be ignored. The interview from minute 4:35 on deals with the UNESCO situation. The entire interview, of course is worthy viewing.

AFSI is a co-sponsor of this Thursday's rally in support of
Judaism's connection to our holiest sites.

Please plan to be there!
